Thanks Michael. I saw them both when I was looking.
backuppc looks like a very nice little app if you are running a network of
pc's along with a server running apache. Or rather, when you mark it for
installation, it requires apache be installed also. Hence my presumption
that you install it on a server running apache and you are intending to do
backups for a number of pcs on your network. IOW, it looked like more than
I wanted to get into.
bacula also appears to be aimed at use within a network of pcs from the
description in synaptic.
