ubuntu 6.10 dropped support for ...

I did not have anything important on this laptop so I did an upgrade from
ubuntu 6.06 to 6.10. The upgrade seemed to work just fine although in the
process it brought up a window which made me wonder a bit if I had anything
to be concerned about. The contents follow:
