moin moin,

after Dennis' presentation last week I decided it was time to play with
it.

Unbeknownst to me at the time Edgy had also released that day.

Most cool! I ran the upgrade Sunday afternoon before taking off to do some
stuff.

When I got back I started with the link I posted the other day.

I read a bunch of documentation and decided to install compiz.

I did that, but some stuff seemed to not be available, so I decided to go
ahead and try beryl.

I decided to ignore the previous instructions linked from the arsgeek
article and ended up in the Ubuntu forums.

My laptop has an ATI card, so I used those directions.

presto jello, I had wobbly windows, but they don't fall down :)

Took a little more than an hour to do the upgrade. That included most of
the searching and document reading.

Show up for devel and east side meetings and ask either Dennis or I to
give you a chance to play with it.

I think I'm not getting full hardware accelleration as beryl's a little
sluggish, but it's still impressive.

Info on what you can do with beryl/compiz.

The German version of the page has some information I don't see on this
page, but doesn't have the descriptions for the different config options.
Good that I can read both languages :).

<ctr>-<alt>-<left_click>-<drag> to rotate the cube by hand, and a great
way to show off the new cubic setup.

ciao,
