Speaking as a gadget loving geek: Using computers to collect votes is a
completely unnecessary application of technology to a process that doesn't
need it, IMO.
But, given that we have them, a HUGE step to preventing current problems,
preventing questions of foreign government influence and preventing
outside involvement, would be to have completely open hardware and
software for the voting systems. It's such a simple answer and yet is
dismissed out of hand in most circles.
So frustrating!
