Ubuntu Mouse

I have a older laptop and installed the new Ubuntu Edgy on it. I have
something plugged into the USB port (an iPod) and connected my USB mouse
to a PS2 adapter and then connected it to the laptop. Since doing that
I can't use the mouse in Ubuntu.

Any ideas?
