I'm afraid I can't help much with Gnome and Nautilus as I don't care for
them and don't use them. I dont even think I have them installed in any
of the 4 or so distros that I have.

I'd be happy to try them out at a meeting. In fact try to get multiple
people to try them out at the next installfest and see what kind of
results you get.
