I've used the HP PSC 1000 USB series scanners/printers/copiers with much
success on Debian and Kubuntu/ubuntu. I did have a little trouble when
the hp subsytems were swapped around last year but it worked fine last
time I setup a system with 6.06 Dapper.
The other day I plugged into another HP that was something like PSC 1400
or 1500 at a friend's house (dont remember the exact number, I can get
it if you want) and it worked great for printing.
Also used the mid level G85 fax/printer/scanner at a client location but
that model is pretty old now.
