But when I start from the very first beginning having nothing,
I have to get at least one phone line, maybe a second one if I need a fax
line, too.

Is there any solution where I can assign 2 numbers to a single line? Or what
about having a phone and a fax on the same line -- does that work, is
additional equipment needed?

On top of that package I can get some internet service from qwest or deru or
any other company -- am I right? So preferable I would take some kind of
deru DSL surfer or DSL Power User.
Is there any time or volume limit, so basically are the DSL packages
flat-rates, everything included, no additional fees?


So if I want to watch TV I have to get a package, too (again Qwest)?

Sorry for this kind of questions, I recently migrated from Germany to the
US.

Is there any kind of high definition stream for free? I was told that in CA
you can receive several channels with the right decoder/receiver hardware in
your box.

What are you guys out there using? I think DSL with some kind of VoIP? No
old style phone lines (or maybe rented but unused)? Noone using fax service?

I have Qwest VDSL with digital TV, and no phone service. The way it worked
for me was that I had to have the phone service initially, then was
'allowed' to drop it after a short (couple months) period of time. That's
how it worked for me anywise. It's been about 3 years since. I've had no
problems. Their onsite techs (I moved a year ago) were actually quite good.

Seems like they change offerings from one month to the next, and as a result

don't seem to know what's going on at times. IMHO
