the only problem I would anticipate is that you would have to
reconfigure x for the new screen and typically on Red Hat / Fedora
systems, that would probably entail booting into runlevel 3, getting a
root console and running the following command...
system-config-display --reconfig
I don't know for certain that RH 9 used the same command...I vaguely
recall it being more like...
redhat-config-display --reconfig
