Well, I tried and gave up! In 99
I had that poj, a compac 120mhz that they booted up to
a '200 pro mm' Whataburger, er, what a kludge.

Crashed due to the 120 mhz cpu being 'slightly'
overclocked by compac.

Anyhow, spent weeks with a 486 dx 100 OC'd as a
'search and pray' for how-to's on the 'other desktop'.

had a rh distro..don't remember which....never had the
guts to go rh since.

Even went to the plug installfest in the building
across clarendon from the townhouse hotel! You guys
had it crash and freeze several times that
installfest. Gave me some other disks and still a
crash and burn machine.

Was still banging away when I left it behind with
windoze re'd on it....windoze froze/crashed weekly or
sooner on it.

Oh, well, got knoppix 3.2 from cheapbytes and bye by
M$$$$$$

Running pclinuxos right now installed. no crashes.
smooth as silk. Then I am not a heavy users..mostly
email/web and some solitaire.

For several days, only hams could get out,
and talk to others dependably.

No Morse Code required for Technician class licensee's. Interested? http://www.arrl.org/
