Back in 96-97-ish, I tried to dual boot one of the big
early distros. I think it was Slack or Mandrake or
something along those lines.
I couldn't get xorg running, had no idea what I was
doing, and had noone to help me. So I gave up.
The frustration added up over the last few years, so
last June/July I decided to try out linux again.
I read a lot.
I tried a lot; both live cd and installed many
distros.
I think I even posted my list of distro opinions here
sometime last year.
The result was that Fedora was right for me. A good
amount of 'cutting-edge' stuff mixed with enough
dependability; and a good community support. (Before I
found PLUG.)
I love playing with computers, and linux gives me
power to screw things up in many more ways. :)
Now to just get my workstation setup with Fedora. In
the meantime, my laptop is happily running FC5.
