I got curious and refreshed my memory, with the help of:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wildcard_DNS_record

So, the RFC says wildcards only match non-existant resources (of any
type). And none of the DNS servers follow RFC 1034 these days, but each
implements them differently.

Can you do MX wildcards with BIND now? I suppose I should go read and
play and answer that myself...
