I have found an alarming number of dvds which won't play with mplayer or zine.
The error I get is:
Linux RTC init error in ioctl (rtc_irqp_set 1024): Permission denied
Try adding "echo 1024 > /proc/sys/dev/rtc/max-user-freq" to your system
startup scripts.
Playing dvd://.
libdvdread: Could not open device with libdvdcss.
libdvdread: Can't open /dev/dvd for reading
Couldn't open DVD device: /dev/dvd
/dev/dvd does exist and I get this regardless of user or root. Some discs
work, most don't.
And attempting to mount the drive simply says no medium found.
It seems to be common lately across platforms for me. Is this a protection
scheme or is my setup just wrong somehow?
