I don't personally know how to talk to those systems on your own
network. Sniffing the traffic would be a place to start. I would suggest
Googling but you've already been there.
My day job is software development for an alarm monitoring company here
in the valley. We work with many of the local alarm dealers (and many
out of state as well.) We handle most formats, including some internet
communicators. We do SMS or email, in addition to the usual phone calls
and fire/police dispatch. If you're interested in that then contact me
