See if the button itself hasn't moved out of position. I once had that happen
and when I pushed it it didn't make a full connection. Cleaning out all the
dust is an excellent suggestion. Do try that before buying a new PS.
If you DO need a new PS, Antec makes great silent ones, but they aren't cheap.
Sparkle brand is reliable and less expensive, but maybe not quite as silent.
Sparkle sells their PS's to other companies that rebrand them and charge more
money for them.
Before buying, check the decible levels. Also check how many cable connectors
they have for the different voltages. Drives and different parts of your
Motherboard use different voltages. You want to make sure that your PS has
adequate juice for your voltage needs. It's also nice if the PS has a fan
vent on the bottom of it, and not just on the side that faces the storage
drives, to help pull the hot air off the CPU.
Sites like Anandtech and Tom's Hardware usually have PS reviews and
comparisons you can check out.
