The way I fix this is to disable the "visor" kernel module from
loading. Doing an lsmod will list the modules for the kernel. If the
visor module is loaded, then, as root, unload the visor module by rmmod
visor. Then the hotsync will work properly in VMWare (you may have to
tell VMWare that the device needs to be assigned to it.) This works
under SuSE 10.
