open source reporting

Is anyone on this list familiar with JasperReports (www.jaspersoft.com)
? A company I consult for is headed toward Crystal Reports for their
reporting needs. I know it's a major product which will probably do
everything they want, but it's also (as far as I know) a Windows-only
proposition. Jasper is open-source J2EE, and seems to offer lots (maybe
all?) of the same features. I'd like to hear from anyone who's used
either product, but especially from someone who's used both and could
compare.
