I am running Centos and they don't seem to offer any kind of notepad
application. The closest they have icon-wise is "OpenOffice.org Word
Processor", which takes forever to come up and is too complex. I am
reduced to bringing up vi in an xterm window.
I'm sure there's better, but I find it hard to believe this isn't
included as one of the basic applications.
Please enlighten me.
