What kind of app is running, PHP, Perl, Java, etc? What's different
about how it connects to your mysql machine? Does your web app use a
hostname or an IP to find your mysql server?
Others ideas about checking DNS sound relevant, but if your web app uses
a domain name to connect to mysql, then that wouldn't be true.
I should say : I know MySQL OK, but I'm a total dunce when it comes to
network connections and such, so I'm probably not much help from here on
out. All I can offer is general trouble-shooting ideas... But, I'll
keep reading to see how it goes.
