Subject: SATA Optical...
No one has replied to my previous post so maybe I should try saying it a
different way... Has anyone had any luck at all getting a SATA optical drive
to work under linux. It is listed when I boot my machine and works under
windows but I have yet to find anyone having any luck. I have read
linuxquestions.org and googled a lot but the only fix I can find is to
change the /include/linux/libata.h line that says #undef ata_enable_atapi to
#define ata_enable_atapi. Has anyone tried this ? Maybe no one here is using
any sata optical drives so cannot help me.... I am using a Plextor 716SA
drive on a Via 8237 Southbridge Sata controller. Please get back to me if
anyone has any information
