Subject: Serial ATA
hey I threw in the SuSE 9.2 Live Evaluation CD in today and it had some
issues with my drives....

I Have a SATA optical drive from Plextor it is a DVD Burner. When I used the
live evaluation cd it did not detect the drive at all. All it showed under
CD-Roms was my Lite-On DVD/CD Drive... So my question is does linux offer
support for SATA DVD Burners or any other SATA optical drives? I almost wish
I would not have bought one as it really has been nothing but a hassle...
However the speed is nice! One other question I am running a Athlon 64 3200+
Proc so I will be needing to use the 64 bit Linux stuff... anyway back to
the question can you run non 64bit apps on the 64 bit OS? And who has the
best support as far as Distro goes for 64 bit OS?

Thanks Guys,
