of course you can do that - Red Hat doesn't compile that in by default.
Probably helps to know which flavor of Red Hat you are using but in
general, your options are...
- compile a kernel that has ntfs support (manual effort - needs to be
done for each new kernel)
- grab the rpm for your kernel to install the module...
<
http://sourceforge.net/projects/linux-ntfs/>
- install
http://dag.wieers.com/packages/ntfsprogs/
for your specific setup
but the easiest way to do that on Fedora system is
yum --enablerpo-dag install ntfsprogs
and in fact, my suggestion to install 'SMART' would make that really
simple...
<
http://smartpm.org>
download install smart, smart-gui, smart-update
after you go through and pick repo's, do a Find for 'ntfs' and it will
allow you to pick it from Dag's repo.
