I have used blackboard. Or rather inherited a blackboard box. It is
not opensource or cheap. Its also a mishmash of a java and perl webapp
so it is built on top of tomcat and modperl. Kinda scary, but I do have
to give them credit for it working. I don't know that moodle really
compares to BB.
