I need to get a fax going. I can scan in files
(admittedly using @98 as the os) or, er, floppy
sneaker them to a file on this linux machine, but
cannot get KdeprintFax to send them. It starts then
logs the following error when using mgetty fax
Sending to fax using: /usr/bin/faxspool -F 'Ed
Culbertson' -f '' -D '' '2960505'
'/tmp/kde-ed/kdeprintfax_IPSJB9AD'
/bin/sh: /usr/bin/faxspool: No such file or directory
And with hyla fax:
Sending fax to recipient
Sending to fax using: /usr/bin/sendfax -n -h
'localhost' -l -x '' -c '' -f '' -d ''@'2960505'
'/tmp/kde-ed/kdeprintfax_FiMcAdnI'
/bin/sh: /usr/bin/sendfax: No such file or directory
Efax gives
Sending fax to recipient
Sending to fax using: /usr/bin/fax NAME='Ed
Culbertson' DEV='modem' PAGE=letter
FROM='480.949.5934' send -l '2960505'
'/tmp/kde-ed/kdeprintfax_6JIv04xF'
/bin/sh: /usr/bin/fax: No such file or directory
Been trying to get to 'no dialtone' using kppp. This
was a good modem when I disconnected from dialup last
year. USR Courier external.
Oh, well.
This is an installed Simply Mepis attempting an
external usr courier that up till about a year ago was
my dialup modem. I think it is still okay...got dsl
now.
