Definitely.
As a volunteer and also as a paid consultant for the past few years, I
have worked at porting and updating hundreds of software suites to
different systems and different compilers. Frequently, I see code that
works on gcc 3.x but doesn't work on gcc 2.9x.x and code that works on gcc
3.3 but not 3.4, etc.
Sometimes it is simple, like text wrapped over lines or a missing
semicolon that makes all the difference when using different gcc versions.
