NOTE: apt-get is available in the software store

To make your life a lot easier, use apt-get for RedHat and Synaptic to
install applications. You can spend the time saved actually working :)
Assuming you are using Fedora Core 1 -
o Get apt-get for redhat,
http://rpmfind.net//linux/RPM/freshrpms/fedora/2/apt/apt-0.5.15cnc6-1.1.fc2.fr.i386.html
o In a Console, type "rpm -ivh apt-0.5.15cnc6-1.1.fc2.fr.i386.rpm"
(without the quotes, of course)
o type "apt-get update" to get the latest package information
o Now type in "apt-get install synaptic"
Once it is done downloading and has installed Synaptic, you can choose
that application from the menu and install any of the thousands of
applications with a few clicks. MPlayer and Xine install in a few seconds.

vnc
vcdimager
unrar
sharutils
