Subject: Wireless cards for Mepis Laptop
Hi, all-

Thanks to the help of Sherry and Dennis at the last installfest, most
everything is working now on my laptop. Well, almost everything. I spent
an interesting but unproductive afternoon today trying to get a DWL-G630
wireless D-link card to work in my laptop. Didn't get much in the way of
error messages, except that dmesg shows "ERROR: Don't know how to get
sensitivity for this radio type, please try to add that!" and "NETDEV
WATCHDOG: transmission timed out." And iwconfig doesn't pick up the
access point numbers UNLESS the WAP is powered up but unconnected to the
internet. Other than that, the signal is detected, packets seem to be
going back and forth, but I have no internet access with the device.

If anybody has a simple solution to the DWL-G630 conundrum, that would
be great. Otherwise, I welcome reccommendations for a wireless card that
will "just work," out of the box, with Mepis and the 2.6.7 kernel.

Thanks!
