Howdy Folks,

No criticism Just new to the group and trying to understand how PLUG works
and what it does.

I think InstallFest is a great idea and hats off to all of you volunteering
your time.

I am impressed with what you are all doing, and the knowledge and experience
that is shared here.

I am inexperienced with Linux in comparison to the members of this list.

There is probably something I can do to help PLUG but I am just trying to
get acquainted with the PLUG community.

I just did not see info about the IF on the webpage.

I am now checking out the web page more thoroughly.

Thanks,

Todd

The InstallFests are advertised within the group:
A - by announcements at the meetings: "The last Saturday of the month."
-- Always happens.
B - by announcements in this list.
-- Happens usually but sometimes only just the day or two before the event.
C - by announcements on the group web site.
-- Did not happen this month. That is my fault.
D - In the FAQ of the group web site.
--

es&id_cat=3&categories=PLUG+Meetings&parent_id=0#28
E - On the calendar of the group web site.
-- The calendar event description includes the address of the location.

Even when all of the above happen, it is not enough. Alexander has been
making sure the InstallFests happen every last Saturday of the month.
Dennis
has stepped up to help. They have provided a special web page for the
install fest that will be added to the group web site at an easy to use URL,

something like plug.phoenix.az.us/if.

I know that Alexander does some "advertising" in some other tech web site
calendars and event lists along with press releases from time to time.
Coordinate with him if you have questions about how it is promoted "outside"

of the group.

Do you have some ideas, suggestions or constructive critisism? Or, better
yet, something you would like to implement? We could always use help and
pointers to something better.
