After updating Mandrake 10.1 with the latest cups revisions I am unableto
print any text, graphics are fine.
Using the "Configure your computer" program I select "hardware" and
then "printer" which leads to "Printer Management Tool 0.1" providing
the following:
Configured on this machine
Def.-- X
Printer Name -- Printer
Model -- HP Deskjet 940C
Connection Type -- Parallel port #0
Description -- HP Deskjet 940C
Location --
Next on the "Printer Management Tool" I select "Edit" and the "Modify
printer configuration" screen appears containing the following:
Printer Printer: HP Deskjet 940C on parallel
port #0 (Default), Descr.: HP DESKJET 940C
What do you want to modify on this printer?
There are seven options to choose from for the modifing I selected
"Printer connection type" from the menu and the following was
displayed:
"Select printer Connection" of the four options "Local printer"
is already selected and a check mark is in front of " Printer
auto-detection (Local, TCP/Socket, SMB printers, and device URI).
Next I select "Print test pages" and a page prints with only the
graphics and no text.
What has to be done to get cups to print text?
TIA
Clay Stapleton
