frozen-bubble. Addictive.
My son loves Battle for Wesnoth, a turn based battle game.
Tux Typing is a favorite.
Enigma is good.
Kolf, especial building golf courses with rediculous layouts.
Super Tux is like Super Mario Bros.
KGoldRunner is also popular for play and building levels.

These are games my kids like. I don't play them much except when I need a
frozen-bubble fix.
