If this is the first programming language you're learning, I strongly
recommend enrolling in one of the java classes at the community colleges
(Rio Salado is a good choice).
They don't teach you the whole ball of wax, but they do offer a
structured learning environment. There's also the added benefit of staff
on-hand to answer questions and provide help. Once you get a good
foundation, teaching yourself becomes much easier.
