I had the same problem with a WinXP machine (not a dual boot at all) and
I finally gave up, reformatted and re-installed. Thankfully, this
network had roaming profiles so there wasn't any data that had to be
recovered.

This is after all though, a Linux message base and Windows problems
aren't exactly on topic but if you boot with CD and run console recovery
and the FIXBOOT and FIXMBR commands don't fix it, it seems to be reload
time.
