FWIW, I once bought a Soyo MoBO that came with a bad IDE controller. It wasn't
DOA, I just couldn't install an OS. Took a few weeks to figure out what was
wrong. SoYo support was so bad! No 800 number and long waits on hold on my
nickel. I couldn't get through to anyone and once I did, it took them almost
a month to issue me an RMA and six more weeks before I got my replacement
board.

Now I buy my boards from Newegg and get the extended warranties. Newegg will
replace a board with no hassle.
