I appreciate your help. The link did not help me
resolve the problem. There seems to be some sort of
trust relationship problem that is not easily
resolved. I can easily talk to the printer utilizing
the following:
echo -en "\rHello\r\f" | smbclient "//hostname/HP" ""
-c 'print -' -N -U "mbp" && echo || echo "error"
So there is a lot working, but the net step seems to
elude me.
