If Kmail works like Mozilla/Thunderbird in regards to filters, then you should
be able to create a rule at any time and run it against a current mbox folder.
I do this all the time with Mozilla since I sign up for mailing lists and then
after receiving a few messages decide how to filter those messages into their
own folder (e.g. something in the subject, the to address, the from address,
etc...).
