As long as the original DVD falls within the 4.7 GB range, you can
copy the DVD provided you rip the scrambling off. I know that there are
dual layered media and burners now but I haven't tried any of those yet.
Also, most distributors (Columbia, Anchor Bay, Rhino, etc...) will
replace damaged discs. All you have to do is ask. Most will send you a
mailer, some will request the disc first.
