Mike -- just be sure to save the file in the .doc or .xls or in
whatever MS format your specialist has on his computer. The default
file formats for OpenOffice are *not* openable by MS-Office apps. So
when you Save, think Save-As, and the other party will be able to read
them with no trouble.
I love OpenOffice. Use it all the time, particularly the Drawing app.
