Subject: West Side Meeting next Tuesday
The PLUG West Side Meeting will be on Tuesday, July 27th.

What: PLUG West Side Meeting
When: July 27, 2004 @ 7:00pm
Where: Glendale Community College, High Tech 1 Teleconference Room
(See web site FAQ here for directions)
Topic: Linux Distributions Overview

We will have a discussion filled presentation about Linux Distributions.

We hope to answer:

    * What is a distribution?
    * Why are there different distributions?
    * Where do I find information about distributions?
    * What are the "major" distributions?
    * What are their strengths?
    * What are their weaknesses?
    * What's to like?
    * What are some other distros?
    * Are specific distros important? Can't I just run anything on any distro?
    * Which distro is right for me?

I will be doing the presentation as a "West Side Edition" of this month's East
Side Meeting. Being a mostly Red Hat and Fedora guy, I am counting on the
rest of you to provide some advocacy for your preferred distro.

We will discuss opinions and differences but NO DISTRO WARS PLEASE! Friendly
discussion and information is what we are after here. :^)
