I cannot comment on Lotus Notes since I have neither developed for it or
used it for any real length of time. If it uses text source files, CVS
should be able to handle it just fine.
However, I can comment on SourceSafe. Unless things have improved
dramatically in the past couple of years, I would not use SoruceSafe,
ever. Even when I was an MS only developer, SourceSafe was a product I
hated to deal with. Repository corruptions, connection problems, failed
code updates, etc. were part of life when using SourceSafe. Even if I was
a MS only developer now, I would look for something other than SourceSafe
if given the choice. This is not MS bashing just because I like Linux and
FS/OSS. It is a statement of my experience with the tool from before and
after I learned about FS/OSS.
