How to find what is installed on Debian Base Distro

Trying to install WINE on XandrOS. The document I have says to test for any WINE versions already installed via "rpm -q --all | grep -i "wine".

This fails under XandrOS with the error ""error: cannot open Package index using db3 - No such file or directory (2)".

The command works on RedHat as I have used it. But, it seems to me to be a RH command and not a Debian command.

Any one willing to share how to determine what version (if any) of WINE is loaded on Debian based distros?
