Increase RAM == increase swap?

I have a "appliance" box, a basic mail server. Currently it has 128MB
RAM. I installed it with a 256MB swap file, following the "swap size is
2x RAM size" rule of thumb.

Now I have 128MB more to add. Should I use parted or another tool to
increase the swap size to 512MB or does it not really matter much?
