Random thought - could it be a heat issue? I'd be surprised that "let
it sit for a few minutes" would make a difference as opposed to
(powerdown, unseat card, reseat card, and power up) if it was just a
matter of a reset. Perhaps lm_sensors can shed some light... I don't
know about IBM laptop compatibility.
