Subject: Installing mepis
Having seen all the plugs for the mepis distro in recent posts, I
decided to take a look & downloaded the two ISOs.

The disk I want to install mepis on is my "experiment with various
distros" disk and looks like:

primary partition 1 (hdb1):    small winxp installation
primary partition 2 (hdb2):    linux swap partition
primary partition 3:    wrapper for logical partitions
        hdb5:    Mandrake 9.2
        hdb6:    small fedora
hdb7:    where I want to put mepis
hdb8:    available for now, knopix later
        hdb9:    available for now
hdb10:    large fedora (may delete if need space)

When I got to the custom partitioning screens during mepis install, I
saw nothing that gave me any confidence that mepis would install on hdb7
where I wanted it. Obviously, I do not want it overwriting one of the
existing installations.

Before I "go all the way" with a mepis install, I'd like some
encouraging words from a mepis user, that in spite of the ambiguous
screens, mepis understands & will follow my installation location
instructions.
