I was just over at
http://www.distrowatch.com, and I see that in their "page hit ranking" table, Mepis has now claimed the #10 spot.
Keep in mind that there are 268 Linux distributions currently listed on distrowatch, according to the last "distrowatch weekly" that Ladislav Bodnar wrote. For a distribution as young as Mepis to hit the top-ten is pretty impressive.
It's also interesting to note that Mepis is probably the youngest distro in the top-ten, not counting distros newly created but heavily based on long-existing distros (such as PCLinuxOS/Mandrake, Fedora/RedHat). Also, Mepis has outranked such heavily marketed distros as Xandros and Lycoris!
I guess that even in this marketing-driven era there are still people out there who recognize quality when they see it!
