Perhaps your mail setup is using the Maildir format for delivery? In
which case your mail is most likely in $HOME/Maildir. If you want Pine to
check Maildir instead of /var/spool/mail, then you'll either have to patch
Pine or configure Pine to check your email using IMAP (check Google).
