Timed pop-up window reminder?

What's a good timed pop-up reminder program? I want something that'll

pop-open a new XWindow and tell me something like "Go home!".
     Attempts so far: Looks like "at" and "xmessage" oughta do it but I can't 
find the correct combination, nor where they might be logging errors, if any.
