Subject: AZ Contract/Perm Job listing
**Please cross post this to any Phoenix area Dev lists**

Hello everyone,

The iron is hot!!!

I have a client in the health insurance industry (read HIPAA experience) that
has their entire database in Access. This needs to be moved to MySQL on
Windows and maintained, some desktop support as well, but their major
problems are a bad front end (read buggy as hell), scalability, their ASP
website, as well as speed. It needs to be able to import from other medical
insurance databases, Those with industry experience will know what I am
talking about (EDI etc). Some history:

I posted something for this a long time ago, but the client didn't move on it.
Well they are growing and their current setup is about to croak. They are
now ANXIOUS to get this going, done well and in a timely fashion. It will be
reactive at first, then proactive later.

Setup? Windows 2k server (unfortunately at the present time not negotiable)
and I would like MySQL used for the backend as this should make porting to
another OS ( read Linux) later on. IIS, ASP web site. About 6-8 users, with
a few dedicated to data entry.

I will be available to help with anything but databases, as I don't do much
with them at all.

Hours? Somewhat flexible, and some telecommuting is OK as well. Maintenance
portion probably won't be full time, but about 20-30 hours a week or less if
you set things up right the first time.

Pay? Probably btwn $40 and $70 an hour as this will be long term depending
upon experience and expediency.

Requirements? Can you make MySQL do backflips in Windows? Have you migrated
Access forms and queries and table to MySQL? Feel like a little desktop
support? I do mean little, not even close to full time, maybe 5-10 hours a
week if that (I can do some, but would prefer not to as I have other clients
that take all my time). At the beginning, minimum 30 hours a week dedicated
to the initial migration.

Location? Roughly Hayden and Shea

Dress? Clean but business casual.

Benefits? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.... no honestly I don't know.

Notes: This is a company that reprices claims for out of network claims. They
have lots of EDI and faxes coming in. The more that is electronic the
better. As far as licensing of the product, I don't care. Who owns the
solution? Developer as far as I care, as long as this company has a license
in perpetuity with no catches. I prefer FOSS based please. Eventually the
whole system will be ported to Linux, ASP to PHP, IIS to Apache etc. If you
can do all that, then this is pretty long term if you take your time and do
it right.

Yes there are commercial solutions, but no thanks.
