Apache alias or redirect?

I have Apache running on a box to serve up intranet web pages. I want
some main pages to have smaller URLs. For example, I would like people to
be able to access page:

http://thisserver/view/this/page/viewer.cgi

by entering the URL:

http://thisserver/viewer

I don't know if I should use Alias or Redirect directives in httpd.conf.
(I'm not a web guy.) Maybe there is an even better way to do it, I don't
know. How would you accomplish this?
