If you have the kernel source installed (stock install anyway) it'll
find 'em; just accept the default path that vmware-config.pl suggests.

Really easy. Install: rpm i- VMwareWorkstation-4.0.5-6030.rpm (or
whatever the rpm name is)
then, as root, "vmware-config.pl" at the shell prompt and answer the
questions. I've always shied away from letting it set up Samba ("allow
access to host filesystem" or very similar question).
to uninstall the above it'd be: rpm -e VMwareWorkstation-4.0.5-6030
