I have an Optra L printer I'm going to chuck. It doesn't print so well
any more, it has a few squeaks and groans. It's printed 114927 pages.
I hate to throw it into that big block filing cabinet outside. If
somebody wants it, it's yours. My main gripe is the toner cartridges
are about $250 for the 14000 sheet version, which doesn't print 14000
sheets, but hey, that's another story. I tried using the cheap refills
and I can't say if that's the reason the printer started printing
poorly, but who knows?
I also have a couple of Telebit modems which I loathe to throw out
also. One is a T2500 which is a model up from the venerable
Trailblazer. The other is a Worldblazer which was the V.32 version.
The T2500 was my original 'Internet' connection: email via uucp. FTP
via email anyone? Warchive ring any (rusty) bells? Or the archive at
ftp.uu.net? shars?
I also have a box of old cards to get rid off. There's a VESA video
card, a couple of EIDE controllers, a wd1004 MFM controller. It's been
awhile, but I think there's a 486 based MB or two, but I won't swear on
it.
There's an old Scanjet with an ISA interface card, and some Microline
92's (I think). And an Epson FX-1040 or something like that .
The Optra may be worthwhile, but the other stuff - ? It's just I hate
to fill up the land fill with this stuff. I know this has been
discussed before and unfortunately I tend to skip through that stuff
PDQ, but what are the options for old kit?
Anyway, this stuff is free for the taking.
